A dark and thrilling story about a cursed woman who was buried inside a jar and seeks revenge after hundreds of years on a family who bought the the artifact.
The idea of having a monster inside a jar is creepy indeed.

This film consists of two parts. The first part, entitled “Komiks”, was about about a boy named Cocoy (Ian de Leon), who finds a mysterious comic book in an abandoned mansion. The comic book, offering unknown magical powers, brings its’ character to life. Unfortunately for Cocoy, there also exists a monster named Gorkrah (Ruel Vernal) who jumped out straight from the comic book. And of course, with every villain comes a hero, Argonax (Michael de Mesa). The movie itself is exciting, story-wise, it was good, though there was no proper explanation why the comic book can bring the characters to life. Considering the era of the film, (and knowing Filipino films) the special effects were nice. The animators also did a good job in mixing animation with live action, though not that very pleasing to look at, it wasn’t that bad. Kids will probably like the film which showcases the never-ending battle between good and evil.
The second part of the film is entitled, “Halimaw sa Banga”. I believe that the title says it all, though there’s always more to the story. A jar was excavated from a remote location, not knowing that it was cursed. An evil entity was buried in the jar, waiting for her revenge. The film itself was very creepy. It did provide a good atmosphere and feel of a horror film. The main actress, Lotlot de Leon, did provide top-notch acting. Overall, this 2nd part of the film, is the better part.
Having to watch two films in one was a good experience. A lot of films from today did get the idea from films like these. Though it may not be considered a classic, it still was entertaining.
