Marie and Marlene (Ana Margarita Gonzales) are twins separated during infancy. Out of poverty, their Aunt Magda (Gloria Romero) is forced to give Marie away to a rich acquaintance Vida (Liza Lorena) and raise Marlene all by herself.
Though living in poverty, Marlene grows up a kind and obedient lady under Magda's shelter. Marie, on the other hand, is haughty and arrogant, being overly pampered by Vida. Marie also has a secret: she can move things with her mind and uses it to her own advantage.
When a rival in love attacks Marie out of spite, Marie is tortured and killed. Vida almost loses her sanity from the loss of her daughter if not for her son finding Marlene and making her stay in their house.
